Foo - Interesting Coffee....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So, at the office this morning, there were not enough beans left in either bag to grind a whole pot, so I had to mix about half and half Mayorga Cafe Cubano with a Costa Rican light roast a cow-irker brought back from that country on his recent trip. It made a very interesting, and very tasty pot of coffee...
I use the Gevalia service and my favorite coffee from them is the Coasta Rican Peaberry.
My interesting coffee is not as tasty.
Had a rought night of sleep and woke up tired and inattentive.
Went to kitchen
Filled water reservoir
Emptied out filter basket and rinsed
Installed new filter and filled with ground coffee
Turned machine on.
See anything wrong here?
Neither did I until I heard the sounds of sizzling coming from the kitchen just now.
Apparently, there must have been about a cup or two of old coffee still in the pot from yesterday.
I normally take the pot off and rinse it as well each morning, but I forgot to do so this AM.
After mopping up the mess on the counter, I tasted what I had made. It is drinkable.
^^ That's better than forgetting the pot altogether, which I did at work one time. 12 cups of coffee all over everything... took an hour to clean up... I was dead tired that morning and did almost everything right...
some of the best flavours and fragrances are blends.
coffee and tea, both.

my machine has that little plunger that will not let it pour if you leave the pot out. However, this does not prevent it from filling the filter basket to overflowing and then covering your counter in hot, coffee ground lava if you leave the pot out.
Ask me how I know this.

Ours is even better - if it overflows, some of it goes into the fresh water section. You get a never ending boil until all the grounds going into the water section clog up the heater at the bottom.

There's a place down the street that sells this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak), but I've yet to try it.
