Does anyone have a slick method for mounting a light (Fenix or Dinotte) onto the headtube. i have a Surly LHT (there is actually room for a mount here) with an Arkel barbag which prevents handlebar mounts for lights. i already have a helmet light but would like to mount one successfully to my headtube. i have tried using a reflector bracket and a homemade bracket but both broke when attached to my PB light. Thanks and ashe.

How about U bolt ?
picture would help us understand what kind of clearance we're looking at.
how about a fork light mount? http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/dualsetupfork.htm

You could use a BIKEBLOCK, this is a parallel mount unlike the Lockblock which is 180 degree offset..

No camera, but i actually found this pic online. Would something like this work for a Dinotte? If so, can ya tell what they are using as the attachment? On the fork is a place to attach a reflector mount, which i think is being used here to attach the light. Looks like the cantilever brake cable is barely cleared in this pic. Thanks for the help. i am obviously not mechanically inclined, which is why am here. Ashe.

you can make your own, cheaper versions from items available at the hardware store. 1" piping, conduit hanger clamps, pre-drilled metal strips, etc.
Why not use the dinotte tail light mount (http://store.dinottelighting.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=dinotte&StoreType=BtoC&Count1=366039454&Count2=283179879&ProductID=49&Target=products.asp) and adapt it for your head tube with a larger o ring from a hardware store.
