Professional Cycling For the Fans - Renaming this forum

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Alright,
We have a proposal on the table to rename this forum. I'm attaching a poll with the most popular candidate names for your votes. It'll be an anonymous poll, by the way, so vote for your option, and the one with the most votes, wins. I'll be leaving this poll active for 30 days.
Definitely in need of a rename. Good work.

All four possibilities are good, and the change is badly needed. Imagine the message count once you can start discussing the entire pro season.

Keep those votes rolling in, everyone. :D

I agree. Focusing on just the Tour de France limits the forum activity to predominantly July, +/- a few weeks. The next logical question is whether the professional competition forum would cover just road racing, or include mountain biking, cyclocross, track, potato sack racing, etc?

How about 'Dope-o-rama'?

How about not?

I think this could be road, track, mountain, what ever.

I see the forum developing in ways we might not necessarily expect, even, but hope it attracts many race fans from all disciplines of cycling. The Grand Tours, the Epic races like RAAM, or the Epic MTB races like the Kokopelli Trail Race.

This place gets very busy starting in about June. Do you prefer the racers stick to the road racing forum during the TdF? I'd vote for creating a new Professional Cycling Fans Forum and keeping this one as-is, unless a name change is already in the works.

How about: "The Did Lance Pick His Nose Today? Forum"....?
I think I see the Road Racing Forum more for the folks that actually race versus the group of folks that just ride and like to follow racing. Might be a small bit of duplication, but probably not a lot.

Make it a subforum. Those that do will find it and those that don't will find it anyway.

Hey, easy there....everyone knows that potatoes are a banned substance.
Good choices, Tom. And thanks for the e-mail this morning. If it gets busy enough, you may consider renaming it to "Professional Road Cycling".
