Pacific Northwest - Where did all the Bikes come from?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Spring must be close. I believe that I saw more bikes on the roads/trails on my commute into work this morning than the total number of bikes I have seen while commuting since last October!
Ride on!

It was dry and sunny yesterday.

I did not see that many yesterday. I guess yesterday woke them all up because this morning they were coming out of the woodwork!

I saw more yesterday than this morning. It was in the low 30s when I rode in, so my guess is that they were all too cold to come out.
Last evening was sure a nice ride home, though. Not so warm I was swimming in sweat, but not so cold I felt in the least uncomfortable. I did one of my best times for the year.

First 50 degree weekend of the year, all the winter-dormant racks on people's trunks sprout new bikes for the spring. Didn't you know that's how it works? :p

So that's how it works! :thumb:
Actually, I've been expecting it, but it always comes as a shock. Now I have to start paying better attention on the SRT :)

I am hitting the road tomorrow. Plus its lighter in the evening, my main determinant for commuting

Yeah, more bikes were out tonight on the way home. That also came with the bonus that more dorks with their unleashed dogs were out as well. You take the good with the bad ;)
It's Cabin Fever. Makes people go out in the mid 30's in order to experience mid-20's wind chill. Delirium: It not just for cyclists. I sold my canoe caddy in minutes on C-List. ;)

It's actually still somewhat light when I get home now, assuming I leave @ 5pm and don't linger in the grocery too long. Spring is definitely nigh!
There were 5 bike tracks in the frost in my bike lane yesterday, very high count.
UPDATE: only one bike track in the frost this morning, things are back to normal. Of course it's 8 degrees colder than it was yesterday, brrr.
