Okay, in Iowa it's not hard to find 180 square feet when you need it and I understand things are different in the big cities. But when you pay $160,000 for a parking spot, do you think it might be time to re-evaluate your mode of transportation? Here is a link to the story on CNN.com

I used to walk by that lot just about everyday... mostly Benz's, Beamers, Saabs and Volvo's as I recall. At that price, of course.

It's still too cheap for the luxury of using that much space for that long every day to simply store machinery in a place where real estate is already at a premium.

What is the cost of an equivalent amount of office space in the city?

My sales rep. at CDW (in Chicago) has a college friend that lives in Boston. She told me last week that this friend paid $80k for her parking spot! That is more than I paid for my last house! Both of these examples are insane!

The only thing insane about it is that people are paying it instead of considering options other than driving.
