Basically, sales tax and auto payment interest would be tax deductable.

Its not law yet, but if this passes the Senate, it most likely will be.

Call me crazy but maybe someone could propose something similar for alternative transportation? Like a Federal moratorium on state/local sales tax on bicycles or bike parts? Of course people would take advantage of this, but it might nudge people to go two wheels instead of four.
