But why? I dont know the figures, but I'd guess the Flight Simulator series was a profitable outfit.
I fly FSX online with a group of other pilots... it's really fun when you have a couple of folks working ATC.. it's quite a lot like the real thing when you have enough human beings in the game.
Flying is all about the procedures. The planes practically fly themselves. Working in the ATC functionality was the best thing MS ever did for FS.
seriously realistic with the ATC there.
yes, the planes can be flown and landed even by people who've never been in the cockpit. just need someone guiding the pilot through the landing procedure is enough.

wow... I credit FS for helping me get my license. Used it way back in '84 on an Apple ][.... well, there's always X-plane...
^^ I remember that version... I had it on my Tandy 1000....
Those were the days.. I especially liked the wire frame sears tower.

Looking at this positively, no successor to FSX might be good in that when we all naturally get new computers in a few years, we can run FSX at its highest settings without losing frame rates and buying the best hardware. :)
