I got a chuckle today at work as I was checking out the bike rack and all the neat bikes folks are pulling out as Spring tries to come here in Wisconsin. As I've been showing off my single speed project, and getting all kinds of weird looks and "why" questions, I saw the SS's nemisis (sp) - the "automatic shifting" Land Rider. You know, the "bike of the future" they sell on the infomercials that shifts itself. Not a bad looking frame, but auto shifting? Big, weird, derailleur, etc. No way!

I think I'm going to park my SS beside it tomorrow.... :-)

If were to ever consider an auto shift bike... why I would I don't know... I would choose the Shimano Nexus Auto.

I've thought about building one with a CVT.

CVT rocks. Ever see (or rather hear) a Formula ! car with it? Sounds like he's driving every where in first, but he's going at 200mph. So cool!
