Mountain Biking - SCORED tonight, thought you'd appreciate it...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was cruising by a pawn shop tonight and spotted a MTN bike out front. Funny thing is, I have 8 bikes already, mostly road, but 2 classic Mongoose BMX that I'm rebuilding. Anyway, decided to stop and take a look.
It was a Klein (forgot the model already, I just threw it in the car and took off)! Picked it up for a whopping $35!!!!
Has a Rock Shock, but it's a hardtail...oh well, beggars can't be choosers, etc. etc. Now, to actually get off road...I'll end up getting lost for sure.

SWEET..I found the forums when looking for info on my bike with and came across a post of someone asking the forums if they should buy a Ritchey with Botranger rims for $50 @ a thrift store.
I hope he DIDN'T get it, having to ask is wrong in so many ways.
Get some nice parts on it?
just make sure everyhting on it works.
OK, I had some time to play with it this morning- had to sneak it in the house whe the wife was at work, I have too many bikes already. It's a pulse comp with full shimano grouppo (hope that term is interchangeable from roadies to mtn men). The chain was/is toast, it has a broken plate on one side, but other than that it's ready to ride...in fact I cruised around the street in front of my house this morning, even with the broken link.
It rides pretty nice, I can't wait to get on a trail and hammer. I need to go through the shifting, etc. and adjust but it's well worth the money.

Shimano what group??? (the suspense is killing me!)
If it's a Klein than it's probably at least STX-RC or Deore LX.

haahah we need pics!! is it steel or alu? what year is it??
No idea what year it is and, sorry to say, it's NOT XTR. In fact, I've never seen the designation. It appears to be an "A" It's a seven speed rear with a triple up front if that helps date it.
I believe it's aluminum (unless I'm completely drunk, but it is light) with a Rock Shock Indy, and Bontrager rims, stem, and bars.
I'll try to shoot some pix in the next week or so...I'm off for five days as of tomorrow so posting pix might take a while.

I think the "A" might refer to Alivio?
That's what I thought...who cares, the price was right and it's been fun riding around the yard so far...

Man, that's going back some years. I think this is the way it went:
