I was just wondering what temperature you find most comfortable to ride in. For me, it would be 40-50 degrees.

Thirty or below. I love being bundled up.

In winter, around 20°F. Spring and fall, the mid-50s. Summer 75-80. Maybe it's just a clothing issue. I'm always either too warm or too cold in between those ranges.

I'm perfectly happy from 30-90F if it's dry. If there's rain, I prefer 70+F. I will ride down to 10F, but don't enjoy it much. I have ridden in single digits, but don't want to do it again.

I don't really have an upper limit, unless my tires start melting, but that's not a huge issue where I live. :)

I call it June.

Anytime where I'm not bundled up. Basically, if I have to break out the ski goggles or hats or big gloves I'm less happy to be riding.

Yes, about 25C is good ... but anywhere between 20C and 30C will do.

Warmer than -10°C (no extra clothing needed) - I like winter. Today it was -3°C, very nice.

I consider 75-80 F perfect for road riding. Warm enough so that all muscles work well and you are light and free. And cool enough so you don't get over heated. For winter 25F is good for me because it's easier to deal with than wetness. 45-50 F and dry is great for fall mountain biking. Keeps you cool on the climbs.

Love it when it is -20F and most people are afraid to drive. The roads are so quiet and people seem to give you extra room.

Also like a nice calm summer day from time to time.

Something like that. I have never cycled above 100F (38C).

Above 60-65 is always uncomfortably hot for riding for me, and 55 can be uncomfortable if the sun's out, especially on hills. At 65, I begin to feel light headed and dehydrate easily even in shorts and t shirt.
Under 25-30 isn't too pleasant because it's balaclava or face freeze.:(

Anything between 30 and 70F is good with me. I just dress accordingly. Under 30 and I have to bundle up, which makes me sweat going up hills and then I'm cold going downhill. Over 70, and I just sweat too much.

Reading the thread reminded me of an old song:

You say Fahrenheit and I say Celsius, You say Fahrenheit and I say Celsius,
Fahrenheit, Celsius, Fahrenheit, Celsius, Let's call the whole thing off. :p

Colder then -25 means heavy artillery and my bike gets slow, not as much fun at that point. -25 to about -7 is the most fun and comfortable time of the year to ride a bike, by far. Between -7 and 15 is the worst because everything is always wet and slushy everywhere and it goes through your clothes, also it rains. 15 to 20 is nice, but there's no snow or ice or hardpack so riding around is rather dull. Hotter then 20 sucks because you get wet of sweat no matter what.

The most uncomfortable I've ever been while riding was in 15 degrees, I was wearing a t shirt and jeans, riding the wrong kind of bike (downhill) with no fenders and it was raining hard, the cold ended up taking every fibre of my body and during the last few kms I wasn't sure I was going to make it. Getting my keys out of my pocket was a real challenge.

20 f., tailwind (both ways of course), and a hard packed or icy surface. When I'm in those conditions it's absolute bliss. Sadly it's usually either much colder or slushy from Chinooks.

depends on location.

if it's rural, i like it very warm - like 80-90. if i'm riding in the city, or around a lot of cars, i like it about 10-20 degrees cooler. hot + exhaust = queasy.

45*F in winter is just about perfect. Warm enough to wear thin gloves and just a shell, but cool enough that I can ride all day comfortably.

In the summer, 65* is ideal.

If there is a fair amount of snow on the ground -10C is better than 0C, as the snow is crunchy rather than slushy.

All around anything between 5C and 30 C is optimal.

Perfect riding conditions yesterday. Overcast with temps between 9 and 10C. and occasional light drizzle. Just warm enough to wear shorts and t shirt but no unwanted extra warmth, and less sweating. No sun in the eyes, no driving rain, no slippery surfaces, precious little wind to fight against, nasty insects all still in hibernation

For long rides, I prefer mid-March to the end of October. For touring, mid-April to the end of September is usually good, although the ends of those time frames can be a little dicey around the mountain passes.

In winter, I prefer dry conditions below freezing. The most miserable cycling weather I've encountered is when it's raining with the temperature a couple of degrees above freezing. Colder than that is easy to handle. When it's dry outside, almost any temperature works.

I ride year-round but my distances drop considerably during the colder months.

60F-ish dry. If raining, as long as I have my baseball cap, no cooler than 80F. If I don't have something to keep the rain off my face I get pissed off and have to stop riding.

The worst weather is around freezing with precipitation. I can't trust the roads then and I hate that.

in the 50's with no humidity and low/no wind is PERFECTION.
