Classic & Vintage - So I have this Falcon - help!?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I picked up a chrome Falcon track frame not to long ago. I have had some trouble finding anything about the falcon track bikes. I've seen another 1 or 2 on velospace. It's got campy fork ends and a 4 digit serial that looks hand stamped. Anyone have any info on them? Timeline so I can date it?
Also, I'm in desperate need of a head badge. Does anyone have a Falcon head badge I can buy from them?
Thanks so much for the help!
I think there may be a headbadge on ebay right now,,,Ooopps, too late, sold a couple days ago! http://cgi.ebay.com/Falcon-bicycle-headbadge-head-badge-Nice-condition_W0QQitemZ120369101635QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120369101635&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A13|39%3A1|240%3A1318
what really? Are you sure? Can you link me? I know there was one on there about a week or so ago. I was watching it like a hawk. Unfortunately, I won't bore you with the details, I had an emergency and missed it. I feel horrible. The old girl is pissed.
Must have been the one I was looking at too....sorry!

Try contacting Falcon Cycles direct. They are Based in Brigg, Lincolnshire, England. They now market Claud Butler along with several other brands (including Falcon of course) and when I needed new decals and a head crest for my old Claud Butler Enduro Mountain bike frame, Eddie Brown at Falcon sent me a set for free - usual cost £10.00! He couldn't match the old-style head crest but sent me the modern version, which looks fine on my respray. Worth a go?
cool! Thanks for the info!
Yes, Falcon did the same for me a number of years ago when I was refurbing my '62 Falcon. Sent a decal set across the "pond" for free!! The new "headbadges" will not be the cool old metal ones, but a stick-on decal type of thing. Still works if you are not "picky".

The very best way to build brand loyalty! The guys at Falcon are really helpful. I travel to Hull fairly regularly to see my son at University there and drive past the sign that says "Brigg 3 miles" just before the M180 motorway to the Humber bridge. One day I really will call in and see them. So far it's always been too late/ early or on a Sunday, when they are closed! It might be hard to leave the works without another Claud Butler in the back of the estate car though!

One Mark Pace of Pace Bicycle Haven, a sometime eBay seller, has a few NOS Falcon badges. Email him and ask about them, if you're willing to pay ~$40 shipped (I was).

By coincidence I was just photographing a Falcon and a Claud Butler badge:)
Has a little paint loss which could easily be touched up.
It's off an early 60s scrapper.
Swap it for something small bicycle related maybe?
I'm looking for a Stronglight crank extractor for example.
thanks for the info everyone!! I surely appreciate it.

You know very well I didn't mean gold in Hull:)
I'm sure it's a nice town but all I really know about it is that it was once a major fishing port and had its own private telephone company.
And I love the accents thereabouts.

Any other pictures I can post that will help?
Looks like a really tight track bike. Looks like the parts are newer than the frame.
Some of them are....the campy aero post and campy lambda rims are NOS. The brooks is very old but amazing. The hubs and bb are new, as are the bars (currently searching for something else), stem is an old cinelli 1a....I'd like to find an old track stem as well.
