Classic & Vintage - Source for matching paint for '70s Peugeot?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi--
I want to touch up the beat-up paint job of my garden-variety '79 Peugeot 10-speed (silver). Does anyone know a source for matching paint? And if not, any advice on what type of paint to use (car paint?), how to prep, etc?
Thanks,

BTW, someone on Ebay is selling original orange Peugeot decals from this era.

No source available. Try your local drug store. If your not man enough have your girlfriend browse the finger nail polish rack for you. Other alternatives are car touch-up or Testors model paint.
Thanks, Miamijim. Actually I'm wearing silver toenail polish right now :) But it's too chrome-y to match the bike color. I will try model paint (on the bike, not my toes).

You can also check auto paint shops, they have alot of colors and can match
paint from your bike (but it can be expensive to custom mix).
Best bet is either nail polish or Model paint (as miamijim suggested).

Regardless of how well the paint seems to match...once you actually put it on the frame...it wont.
