Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Your "Ideal" Blinky Flash Pattern

I'm curious as to what everyone would say is their ideal blinky flash pattern? How many flashes per second? Low-high-low-high... or on-off-on-off...? Or a more complicated pattern?

I'm leaning towards about 3 flashes per second and low-high-low-high...I like how the low-high pattern reduces the harshness but still stands out and allows for continuous tracking of your light.

Good idea but I don't think it would work though. Your idea would require a driver to pay attention, something most are not able to do.

Not to mention understand Morse code. Now that IS a real feat in the era of the truly brain dead where everything has to be spoon fed to the public.

There's some guidelines about what rate to flash at so as to not trigger somebody's epilepsy. I forget what they are, tho.

IMHO, the optimum would be to never quite go all the way off instead of high-low-high-low. Even if it's just one little LED in the middle that stays on.

When I was in the legislature I was the lead author of a bill that was signed into law. It required white blinking lights on the rear top of all new school buses in the state. One of the opponents of the idea was an organization of people supporting special needs children.

I quite like my ld1100. One bank full on, one blinking, maybe 3-4Hz and 30% - 50% duty.
Perhaps a combo with superflash pattern, a really bright blink on both every 3seconds.

I like either of Dinotte's blink patterns -- always on with bright flash every half-second or so, or always on with a rapid-fire five flashes. Their slow off-on-off-on pattern is timed the same as typical construction flashers, too.

I would actually like a have a blinky pattern that starts from off and increases to full intensity then decreases to off again in a sawtooth type wave form.

It's Morse code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morse_code), developed by Samuel Morse. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_F._B._Morse) I hoped that you'd know how to spell his name since you got "FU" right. ;)
