I always read advice here about carb/protein needs before or after exercise, but I'm curious what I should eat before and after a ride if it's just my typical 8 mile commute. I do consider this exercise, but it's not enough to really make me tired at all or feel like I got a workout. Do I really even need to consume anything more than if I just drove to work? Seems like a couple of carrots are all I need, is this right?
