would a carbon seatpost crack on a pista concept cause of the interclamp seatpost?

Only if you over tighten it. My daughter has a Pista Concept and hated the stock seat. For about 6-7 months I was switching her seat and post (carbon) from her road bike, between the two bikes. Sometimes this was done as much as three times per week.

The carbon post DID end up cracking.....but I believe it was due to the constant tightening and loosening from all the swapping back and forth I was doing. Her road bike is Alu with a standard clamp and it came with the carbon post. I think you will be fine.

Mine hasn't cracked... if it ever does I'd just stick to Thomson.

Most people make the mistake of over-tightening a seat post clamp at least once in their lives.

Really, you only need to tighten it enough to where you can't move it in the seat tube anymore, and that's not very much at all, actually. If you're still iffy, most carbon seatposts have a torque figure either printed on the tube itself or given on the manufacturer's website. Just install it using a torque wrench next time.

If you're worried that the violence of track racing will crack the seatpost, much as carbon-railed saddles are known to crack under a sprinter's weight, you shouldn't be. Even the lightest carbon seatpost is strong enough to withstand nearly any of the longitudinal forces imparted upon it by even the sloppiest pedal-stroke.
