Hi, everyone. I'm an American living in Osaka, Japan, and I stumbled upon these forums recently while doing research to get a better bike than the one I've got. I've made do with a mama-chari (European-style city bike) for the past year and a half, and while the thing's built like a tank and practically indestructible, it's also incredibly slow. I'm planning on augmenting (though not entirely replacing) it with a hybrid bike, and outfitting such with fenders and a rear carrying-rack to make it a bit more utilitarian. This is the first time I've ever been the least bit serious about a bike purchase, so I'm learning the ropes as I go.
I'll probably be mostly searching through the archives of the forum for information, but if I have a question I don't think has been asked, I hope that the posters here will be able to help point me in the right direction.
