I have a 2003 Corrida 4.4 road bike. Very happy with it. I have about 2000 miles on it. The components are better than you would get with similarly priced bikes.

Support the LBS. Also, are you comfortable assembling your bike, maintaining it, doing tune ups, etc? If you buy an LBS bike, they will do all of that for you, a lot of times for free for the life of the bike.

THere won't be much to assemble on the IBEX bike. The handlebars will need put on but that consists of a couple screws. Also the pedals and wheels will need put on. THe only other thing you might have to do is adjust the deraillers. IBEX will help you if you have trouble. EVeryone should know how to adjust their deraillers so now is as good a time as any to learn if you don't already know.

My LBS only does a 30 day free check up with a new bike but unless you are completely incompetant this really doesn't amount to squat. They basically just check the brakes and deraillers for adjustment. I wouldn't hesitate a bit to buy on of the IBEX mid level bikes. It is always better to test ride a bike before you buy it but however, I wouldn't think twice about buying an IBEX. They have so much better components than their rivals in the same price range.

I wouldn't spend over $500 on a bike I had never ridden however.

(BTW, your LBS can still work on this bike if you get into something that is over your head. They will just charge you for it. Like i said before, they will possibly charge you to do the same thing to a bike you buy from them.)
