well as my other post stated, i just picked up an older trek roadie, it had this attached to the fork, hopefully i can pop a new battery in it and use it, it looks pretty cool, anyone have something similar?

Yeah I have a couple of them. One like yours, is an odometer that hands on the fork. The other is a Cyclotronic. As I recall it works off of power generated when the front wheel turns. It's the real deal, distance, speed and so on. I got it on a 1983 Nishiki I picked up from the original owner.
