Framebuilders - Raleigh Record Component Compatibility

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everyone, I got myself a 75 raleigh record and am looking to upgrade some components. I am curious to know whether the geometry is the same and I can start throwing everything together. Thanks so much for your help.

This isn't so much a "framebuilders" question as a "bicycle mechanic" question, but... you should have no problems putting modern components on that frame. The only small hassle will come on the rear triangle- it's probably 120mm width, while modern hubs are 130mm wide. Spreadig the rear end on a steel frame like yours is a trivial job for an experienced mechanic.
