For the past week, I could not keep up w/ my riding buddies. I get dropped after 20-25kms..:(

We maintain a 30~35km/h(18.75~21.8mph) speed on our 60~80km rides..
for the past months, I could keep up with this pace, I can even go w/ 50kmh sprints/bursts and make them chase me...

But...

What is happening? This week, I just feel so week.... :(

Help!

You are either fighting off an illness or overtraining. Take a couple of days off and see how you do.

You need to get more rest and sleep. Take some time off between rides to work out other parts of your body like lifting weights.

Take 3 days off with no riding, sleep 9 hours or more each night, you will come back stronger than before.

Do your self a favor and check out your bike also. A slow leak can really hold you back. Stuff that needs lubing or oiling also has an impact. Weight gains and floppy clothes also. Get your rest as advised then really look that bike over with a sharp eye.

Have you been cutting back on food intake? If so this will definitely do it. Rest is also key.

How was the weather last week? Unexpected warmer weather will dehydrate you faster and you may not notice it...meaning you burn out quicker.

Just a thought.

Brake dragging on a rim? But it sounds like overtraining... your body is probably exhausted.

How about allergies? It is that time of year and I know I have had no strength at all the last couple of times out.

thanks for all the replies...

I did a long 9 hr sleep. and had a little bit strength back..

I had the bike checked at the LBS, the wheel, somehow redished itself???, so the brake it is lightly touching the non drive side brake surface of the rim (I used to check this before every ride :(, I didn't last week, I just peddled ).

My gauge, air pressure, has to be recalibrated/replaced too.. I found out I was only putting 80 psi, and gauge read 100psi.

Today, I had my fastest 80km(50mi) ride, at ave 36kmh(22.5mph) :) Yahoo!!!!

I guess I was just having a bad week.. overtraining + all the other problems..

Thanks a lot for the help..
