Classic & Vintage - My Frejus is done...almost

Poor quality pics but the best you'll get from me.
Everything on the bike is what was on it when received with the exception of the Weinmann brakeset, cables and hubs (the Nuovo Tipos are being laced by somebody who does this for a living) and the stem, bar and bar wrap.
Refinished by Jack at Franklin Frames who did a fabulous job. I had him replace the non-functional cable stops and he replaced the damaged fork blades but reused the crown and steerer.
Sooner than later I'll post pics of the frame before it got sent out for the refinish.

Thanks. Not sure what year. The receipt is dated 1966 but from the serial # registry on CLassic Rendevous it would appear that it's early -mid 60's

The seat cluster is interesting. There appears to be no window cut-out that is typical of Frejus and it has a separate seatpost clamp. There is an earlier (I think) Frejus on ebay now that has an integrated seatpost clamp but I have also have seen a late 40s/early 50s with the separate band like yours.

iab, are you referring to the green one on ebay? I have no idea how to figure the year of mfr. I've seen 2 that have the same seat cluster as mine - one on the wool jersey gallery which is almost indentical in everyway (and has nice Frejus fenders) and one on Classic Rendevous that is labelled a '65 but has adj campy dropouts (mine doesn't) and braze on cable guides at the bb and is full chrome. Both of these have the clamp and no cut out. From what I can gather, and it's just my guess, Frejus seemed to have 2 models (maybe 3) offered at the same time - Super Course or I've seen some called "Torino" and the TDF. The TDF always seems to be the "lesser" model. Seems by the 70's TDF's were coming out with lower end comp's like Svelto der's, etc.

Malcolm, thanks for the information. And yes, I was referring to the green one on ebay. Also, FWIW, I heard the fork on the green ebay bike is probably from a PX10.

I wasn't going to say anything about the fork but I did notice that it is considerably "different" from any Frejus i've seen. it's still a nice looking bike.

about that fork. . . first clue was the simplex dropouts on the fork and campy rear dropouts.
but it is a gorgeous bike.

A beautiful red steel lugged frame from the early 1960s with Campagnolo hubs and derailleus, Weinmann centerpulls, road quill pedals, and half-step gearing -- reminds me of a couple of my bikes. :)
