Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Minoura saddle rail dual bottle cage question

Hello,
Does anyone have the Minoura dual bottle cage mount that attaches to the saddle rails (see pic)? I am curious how far past the end of the seat the vertical bars are? I have a large Topeak saddle bag that sticks out about 1-1/2 inches that I'd need to work around.

I have limited experience with that... That means I bought one, installed it, and tried to make it work. In the end I removed it and took it back. Don't get me wrong, for what it is designed to do it does very well. It just would not work with my travel/folding bike.

I see people ride past me all the time with different variations of that system. Most are tri athletes that barely carry enough to fix a flat ... once. I don't think I have ever seen a seat pack used with one. Most of the folks that choose this kind of system tend to carry their gear in their jersey pockets. I have seen a way to screw CO2 carts onto it and I have seen tubular tires folded up under them too. Just no seat packs.

You could always take my approach. Try it and if it does not work, return it. Just take care when opening the packaging and keep the paperwork.

I decided to take a second run at making a tail light system... my old one (http://people.msoe.edu/~capriotj/tail_lights/target6.html) didn't work so well. Attaching it to the plastic piece of my rack in very cold weather proved a bad idea.

Frame bags work well.
