Bicycle Mechanics - On-One Bikes N. American Distribution?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Not exactly a mechanical question, but since many of you are in shops every day I figured this was the best place to ask.
Does the U.K. bike company On-One currently have distribution in the U.S. or Canada? They have some neat stuff but it seems like the only way to get your hands on it is to order direct. I'm looking specifically for their Midge bars, as WTB has decided to make thier current Dirt Drop incompatible with barcons.

When I got mine a couple months ago Don Person (eBay seller "shiggy-or") was the only stateside source for Midge bars. Maybe contact him?

A number of internet bike shops list the Midge bar but ALL that I recently checked indicated that it was out of stock. IMO either poor distribution here or On One is having production problems in Europe, or wherever they have it made.

That's what I've noticed as well but On-One sells directly from their website and claim to have Midges in stock. There's a shop in town who sold Planet-X/On-One stuff years ago. Maybe they'll know what's going on.

I think they just don't have a deal with any U.S. distributors. $62 shipped from the UK isn't too bad.
I remember seeing some On-One products at Freewheel Bike in Minneapolis. You may want to give them a call.

I guess I lucked out - ordered a set of midge bars last summer. I got them from a mainstream online place, like jensonUSA, or maybe UniversalCycles in Portland.
