I get so pissed whenever i see this. Some of them i saw in the summer in the same spot in perfect condition. All of them are probably abandoned now, but i know for a fact they were too before what happened to them since i walk this on my way to school.

Note to self: don't lock my bikes up outside during the winter in Montreal. That fuji frame is something to behold, some of the messes look almost sculptural.

My wife and I went to Montreal last year on our honeymoon and loved it, all of the college campuses give the city a very young hip feeling. We stayed in the Latin quarter, so there was plenty of interesting stuff happening.

Wow! :(
I'll miss Montreal. But not those winters. It is a biker's city.
;)
Those scenes are usually repeated in most big cities. Really tough to keep one's bike safe outside.
Not just plows, weather, but also vandals and thieves. Many become victims of drunken groups, who will stomp, and trash a bike for fun and laughs.

I'm sure its not all snow plow, some were probably beaten by rowdy drunk kids

I miss Montreal too!!! I've haven't had a poutine for more than 6 months! I remember all those bikes, I guess it's a winter tradition.

Sad, but at the same time, I see a lot of great donor bikes!!

It's sad, but I don't have a great deal of sympathy for the owners. Locking your bicycle up outside for a prolonged period of time (especially in the winter), is a pretty good sign that the owners don't really care about them very much.

Ever see what they pull from the bottom of the Amsterdam Canals every year?
