Texas - How about a bike camping trip?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone interested in a short overnight bike camping trip on Saturday the 28th of this month? There are a couple of us that are planning to ride out to the Park at Lake Tawakoni and camp, then ride back home in the morning.
Here's a sample of the route... LINKY (http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/tx/wylie/537408141826). It's a route I borrowed, but I've ridden most of it and it should work nicely. Comes out to something like 43 miles each way, and there's likely to be some alcohol and cigars involved at the campsite. It should be a nice relaxing prelude to SoldierRide the following week.
I don't think we've set the start time in stone, but I'm guessing somewhere early afternoon should do nicely.

I would love to go, but alas, I will be putting in a new closet and installing two doors over that weekend. What's this thing about 'Nesting'? I think my wife has cleaned out and organized everything we own in anticipation of little crdean1. It's crazy I tell you. If there is a remote chance I can go, I will send you an email.
For those who can go, Steve's a blast to camp with. Like he said, he brings great cigars, and somehow he gets a full night's sleep in a hammock, of all things. And if Cliff comes along, watch out for the flask. He'll whip you on the road with his single speed and a flask, and he can hang with just those two things for 100 miles or more, guaranteed. You will never think of the word 'endurance' the same. Ha.

Thinkin' I'm in for this.

I might be able to make this. I'll see if I can remember where the racks and panniers are.

It all comes down to my rather unpredictable work situation. Overtime = Just say yes. Not that they ask.......
EDIT: SB, I need to get your rack and panniers back to you. Possibly Saturday evening?

I was hoping to bike to a campout last fall, but the the campout was cancelled. I actually built a trailer for the event, but am undecided as to its usefulness. I doubt I'll be able to make the trip in question, though- I'd nearly need to take a Friday off and ride out then and back Saturady if it was very far like that.

TX, no worries about the rack and stuff. I'll get them some time. Saturday's fine if it works out, but okay if it doesn't too.
Stephen, if the distance is an issue, there's a truck stop and Subway where the route crosses I-30 in Royse City. That would cut about 16 miles off the route. You could meet up with us there.

Haha, thought it might. It's TX's route, in case anyone was curious.

I still need to find an alternative to the bridge thingy though.

Looks like this is off. Too many schedule conflicts. March 8th starts the RollAid ride though. It's not too late if anyone else wants to join up.
