Commuting - spring, spring, go away

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I don't know about every one else, but up here in Minneapolis I'm rather sick of spring already. Yesterday it was 91 degrees, today 49. Yesterday 20mph wind from the south, today 15mph wind from the north. The only thing that seems to be constant is that it's sufficiently windy to be bothersome. The commute during february and march was much more pleasant. You knew it was going to be cold. Now your ears and fingertips freeze while your back is sweating. I say bring on summer...

It's been up and down here in Colorado, too. I tend to get winds from the south in the morning for my due-south commute, and winds from the north in the afternoon for my due-north commute. Yay... February and March were much more predictable :).

And then in the summer it will be very hot and humid or both and you'll be wishing for spring again. Same story here. But any day you can get out and ride the roads is another day in paradise. Some days are more windy or colder than others, but another day in paradise.

I can't agree more. Bring on the heat. Don't mind sweltering a bit. Headwind gusting to 50 km/h this morning... I drove a car... shame on me.

Mate, compared to what I grew up with, there ain't no humidity in this town. :D The heat I can stand, but it's the humidity that kills me.
But you're right - any day on the bike is a good day. :D
Personally, I'm rather happy with our current weather...

Hmmmm... nope, I'm ready for summer, bring on the heat.
Why can't the winter come back? It was so nice when there weren't too many bikers and the cars slowed down a bit.
I much prefer riding in snow to heavy rain, too. You can usually just knock it off when you get to the end of the ride, but when it rains in Minneapolis you're almost always soaked to the bone.
And summer is just WAY too hot.

The waether is beautiful here right now. Clear sunny days, a little bit of cool wind, temps in the low 20s C. Ahhhhh, winter is nigh.

Just so you're aware. I set off on the ride on Sunday in temps of about 12 C. Now that is bliss! Best of all, it stayed like that when I hit O'Reilly's Plateau. I think there should be a law banning temperatures from ever rising above 12 C.

Ok, today made up for any complaints... t'was a beautiful day here in the twin cities, especially for a nice night ride home after IM frisbee game. T-shirt and shorts, no wind, good stuff.

Poetry my friend, poetry.. :o
You should print posters with that..
Or perhaps a Bike sticker.. :p
Winter...Spring...Summer...Fall...it's all the same in Hawaii. Reading posts like this reminds me how fortunate I am. I can't ride as far as most of you without seeing the same thing more than once (the islands are only so big), but the weather is pretty regular. Winter has more rain than summer though. A few weeks ago it dorpped down into the 50's. I did not think that I would ever warm up.
