Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm not sure if people are buying this year - but there is always a need for a good wrench.

I think that was the summary for 2008 - people aren't buying as many new bikes, but they're getting older bikes fixed up and buying accessories.
One of the experienced wrenches on here (HillRider, I think) reported 27" tires being completely sold out in mid-summer, due to people fixing up bikes that have been wall ornaments for decades.

MY local LBS had their best year ever, even with a VERY LATE Spring.

I'll be opening my new store in 2009... I will just be doing repairs and conversions and am planning on being fairly busy.
With the economy the way it is I would expect that sales of new bikes might be lagging a little compared to last year.
