Classic & Vintage - Silver (Rivendell) barends-- what order?

I got a set of the Silver barend shifters. They're beautiful. My set didn't come with instructions, and usually I can figure out the order, but when I assembled them as I thought they should be, there seemed to be a little too much resistance, and I couldn't hear the ratcheting mechanism when I decreased tension.
So can someone be so kind as to let me know what order everything goes in, and maybe upload a picture or two of how to assemble? There wasn't any info I could find on Rivbike.com, and the pics there don't help much, either.
Thanks!

Well, I tried assembling them again. In this order from the outside to the inside: pod, washer that limits the tension/ range the shifter can be pulled up, small washer that fits somewhat inside the shifter, shifter, outside plastic washer, wingnut bolt. With that smaller washer, it seems like there is a LOT of play in the shifter, but I can hear it ratchet when I pull it up. Without the washer there doesn't seem to be any play but I can't hear any ratcheting.
Here's a pic of the parts I'm talking about. I numbered in order of assembly, i.e. in the order from the barend pod outwards to the securing bolt.
