Classic & Vintage - medici question
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

ive had this medici for several years now but wanted to date it. has i mix of c record-cranks, brake levers, and super record-rest of bike. paint job, i believe is original but is rather odd as you can see. would any care to share some infor with me? thanks
what is the serial number? It looks like the earlier ones had a format like nn.nnnn
the first two digits are the size of the frame, the last digit corresponds to the year (in the '80's anyway, of manufacture). There isn't much consistency, though. My Aero has this serial number: 57 0104A. The A indicates the Aero tubing (like, um, someone won't notice?). 1984 is pretty close. I have only seen one other, so 10 is probably a reasonable number for the actual bike frame number.
Nice paint job, btw.

The first two numbers are the size, then it was just sequential from there. I know the guy that has the book of the serial numbers from a certain point, like 1985ish and beyond. Gian Simonetti is still around in SoCal, he just painted my hubby's Medici last year. What is the serial#? I can see if it is in the book for you.
