Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Matsuri X-150: What the heck did I just buy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

(Edit: uploaded the pictures instead of linking to imageshack)

So my friend found this bike in his mother-in-law's basement or something. The shifters don't work (my buddy who found it assumes the cables are just shot, haven't even looked at it myself yet) but everything else seems to be running smooth. Little bit of scraped paint on the frame and the hub up front feels like it might need to be re-packed.

Can anyone tell me if this bike is worth anything? I know Matsuri was Nissan's bike division, but that's all I know. There is a plate at the base of the seat tube that has "81 12" stamped in it. If I was a guessing man I'd say that was its year, but I have no clue. If it's worth anything I'll try to restore it, otherwise it will be my first FG conversion and the rest of the components will find good use on my poor beat up Puch.

Not worth much. Also, I don't see any braze-ons, if so, easy conversion. This is the type of bike if I find one, I donate to my favorite charity. The last bike I had of this caliber, I sold to someone that converted it to a FG.

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't expecting it to be worth much, but figured be good to double check before I started tearing into it. Thanks!

It looks like it has fender eyelets so it could make for a fine winter/slush/rain bike once you convert it over.
