It's looking like I'm going to be in the market for a tire to go on the front of an EZ-1. This is going to be a commuting bike so #1 on my list is punture resistance. It currently has the ultimate in puncture resistance (an airless tire) but I'd like to replace it. It doesn't appear Schwalbe does a Marathon Plus in that size. Appreciate any ideas.
Thanks!
Kenda Kwest makes a decent 100 PSI version in two sizes: 16 x 1.25 and 16 x 1.50. I use'em in both 16" and 20's. Also, the rough riding, but indestructible Maxxis Hookworm.

Why are you going away from an airless tire?

The one that is on the front now is pretty old and showing signs of deterioration. I originally had airless front and back and didn't like the feel of the one on the back at all. If I do end up getting this bike, I'll probably leave it on for awhile and get a good back tire first.
BTW, if something sounds funny in the above paragraph it's because this is a bike I bought several years ago, and it was stolen from my garage about 18-20 months ago. I've since found it for sale at a local shop. Unfortunately I don't have anything to prove ownership, but I'm negotiating with the shop owner to get it back.

Thanks for the link. I also found a shop that has Schwalbe Marathon Plus in a 16x1.35. So it looks like I have some good options.

Just an update--I picked up the EZ-1 SC yesterday and took a quick shake down cruise around the block. That airless tire has definitely got to go! It has deteriorated to the point where it sounds (and feels) like I'm using a roll of double stick tape for a front wheel! I have a 60psi Kenda I'm going to put on it for now until I can do some upgrading. But the gray-haired commuter will be back on the road tomorrow!!!!:):)

Did you get a decent deal in getting back your old EZ-1?
That is a tough situation. I'm sure the shop owner had some investment in it, and as you said, you had no proof it was yours.
It is always good to write down your frame serial number and then when it is lost, report that to the police. Then even a couple of years later, you can make an official identification.

Well, as I said in BROL forum, short of litigation, I was due to get screwed in this deal. However, I'm happy. I had a bike I couldn't ride and traded it for one I can. I would have liked to have landed that EZ-Rider CX but the SC will work. It'll will make a good commuter and the included fenders give me some flexibilty on tire sizes when I go to upgrade.
Now just don't tell my wife I'm eyeing a Mueller fairing!:)
