Introductions - Hello from Detroit

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm getting more into road biking, and am shopping for a bike for long-distance, as well as something that will help me keep my elbow tendonitis issues to a minimum.
Nice to be here.

Hi Lance,
Welcome to the Forums. I'm a native of the east side of Detroit, and went to college in Ann Arbor where I got into a cycling lifestyle. I like to say Hi to fellow cyclists from familiar geographic areas. Whereabouts are you from and where, and what kind of road biking do you do now (commuting, racing. touring, etc.)?

Greetings Jim from Boston... :)
Salutations come from the Grosse Pointe / Harper Woods area, where I bike down Lakeshore Drive, just short of the ghetto border of Detroit, then turn back around to make my way up to Metro Beach, then back home... Lakeshore Drive is very scenic, but I prefer the flat and wide pavement of Kercheval Drive...
I'm aware of the need to use a bike around campus in A2... I didn't go to college there, but my wife and other relatives did...
I'm working up to make a 2-day trip across Michigan, from the right coast to the left coast... need some new equipment and some more stamina...
My mountain bike no longer fits my needs, due to my new goals and the tendonitis in my elbow becomes a problem if I take too many bumps... As a matter of fact, I did buy my mountain bike from Ann Arbor Cyclery... The damn thing is a fossil now... a Mongoose with no shocks...
Nice to meet you!!!! Enjoy your day!!!!!
