My light randomly changes modes when I hit a bump. It would also just dim randomly also, and I'd have to hit it to get it back to full brightness.

This cheap light is such a disappointment compared to my fenix l2d which I have nothing but praise for.

I've heard of two tricks for this:
1) put a small piece of aluminum foil between the battery and the cap (to keep the battery from sliding back and forth).
2) wrap a little bit of tape around the battery (once again to keep it from sliding around).

Myself? I bought a light with only two modes. I never have this problem. :D

I have EXACTLY the same problem. Except, not exactly, because it changes modes when it's just sitting there on a shelf next to my bed when I'm using it as a reading light. Yes, when it's not even being moved around, but sitting perfectly stationary. It's very irritating trying to read when the amount of light on the book's page is continually fluctuating from the low mode to the high mode, in random fashion. This light is not only a disappointment, but an absolute piece of junk!

My Fenix L2D, on the other hand... it's an amazing little light. I can't recommend it highly enough!

You have to make sure that all the tubing sections that screw together are electircally sound (tight and clean).

A lot to be said for excellent QC. DealXtreme is so spotty that I won't order from them again.

Fenix is bulletproof on QC, good for "mission-critical" lighting. I did try Romisen and Terralux torches (Batteryjunction) (same 200+ lumens, 2 x AA) which are half the price, and about 1 oz heavier and slightly larger, which both seem to have excellent QC and packaging - check those out if you'd like a $20 torch with 200 lumens that is identical (as far as I can tell on max setting) Fenix's brightness and spread.

What light is it ?
