Can anyone point me in the direction of a folding bike manufacturer that caters to large people? 6" 2" 240

I am similar in size ... I have owned two Bike Fridays and they do very well. Still have my second one (Pocket-Rocket) and it was custom made to suit my body. Just insist on a good spoke count, no less than 36.

Know anything about the compact variety? I need to be able to fit it in the back of my drift boat.

Know anything about the Downtube brand? They go to 245.

Wow, an extra large Strida! I'd love to try one and see how it compares to the regular size one I tried previously. My initial impression was not good, but the standard size bike was so much too small for me that it wasn't really a fair test.
I agree a Downtube should fit you well ,espically if you fit drops to it,see picture.
I did some calulations and recon the seatpost is good up to up 6 foot 4-6. Its also very strong and stiff.
Another possiblity is the trikic as it is available in different frame sizes.
I would have thought a Birdie work well with longer riders.
hope this helps.
Brompton also do an extended seatpost for their range ,and if you need more cockpit space see "little pixels" on DIY folding stem arrangments.
My mezzo seatpost adjusts for me I am 5 foot 10, but I have the post very high compaired to other riders. You may feel OK on a mezzo.I do not think any extended post are avialable .
Dahon may do an extended post. You can always add a sprung saddle to gain 1 and1/2 inches of height to a standard seatpost.

Oh, they became conservative recently. They used to claim that the weight limit of Strida is 250lbs (115kg). I also weigh 250lbs and my Strida 3 is still very well after over a year of everyday, heavy duties on it. :thumb:

I'm 6' 6" tall and find my Dahon Mu P8 to be comfortable and (so far) reliable
