Northern California - Help cycling in Sac and NorCal

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The Sacbee has a reader poll about whether or not people will attend the Tour Prologe. No is winning 3-1. Go here to vote for yes:

Let's let these publications know that there is support for our sport (maybe they'll start to cover it more)

If 1/4 of the city of Sacramento watches the race, that will be a huge turnout.

25% of the metro area would be over half a million people lining a 2 mile route...
I hope 25% of the area DON'T show up, that would be insane!

Are you serious? There's a whole section devoted to the race. It's been there for a week or two now. There's so much hype about the race that a poll is meaningless. Aside from that, I've noticed a lot of readers that comment on the sacbee.com are generally mad-at-the-world types.
The poll isn't indicative of desire to watch. There are probably quite a few people who would go, but are voting no because of the weather prediction.

Younger versions of AM radio talk call-ins.
OT: When I was growing up in Detroit, my dad always listened to AM radio all day long (warehouse job and he was the only one in the warehouse). There was always a never ending line of crotchety old people calling in to complain about something or another.
