Thinking of riding along the hwy 680 frontage road from Benicia to Cordelia then on to Solano Comm College. That's about a 30 mile round trip, give or take. Rolling hills and flats so it's easy but long. If it rains too hard, I'll turn around. There's a little cafe at mid point that makes a pretty good corn beef hash. It's just tough riding back on a belly full of two eggs over medium with corn beef hash and dry wheat toast. I could have something lighter but what's the point of riding 30 miles, right?

Anyway, if you'd like to join me, let me know. I am thinking of doing this on Sunday morning unless it rains heavily or something else comes up, which is likely. Damn, I can't commit to my own ride.

I'll ride with ya! I don't know if you remember, but at the B&B ride I told you I know NOTHING about Benicia, so this is a good excuse to get myself out there. I'm not too savvy about contacting people through the bulletin board, so email me with the start location. k d stoffel (at) g mail (dot) com.

Of course, if there's a real downpour I might just show up to eat.:D

Great! Let's meet at the vista point overlooking the mothball fleet off hwy 680. The exit is Lake Herman Rd in Benicia. How's about 10AM on Sunday? I'll double check the Villa Cafe's hours.

If Benicia is too far for you, maybe we can meet somewhere halfway and ride. Are you the one employed at Summit/Alta Bates?

I have an all-day commitment Sunday, or else I'd join you and make the ride even more slow pokey. :p

I hope the weather cooperates, especially the wind.

I'm hoping the weather cooperates as well. Looks kinda scary right now and cold.

Hoping for decent weather. I'll meet you at the vista point @ 10, although I don't know where it is. I'm guessing that it'll be obvious from the Lake Herman exit off 680? How long would it take to get there from the Back Forty BBQ joint?

Email me your ph# and I'll call you Sunday morning for a local weather report. And, yeah, I'm the guy from Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

Here's the weather forecast for tomorrow. Looks like rain and 40 mph wind! Anyone who's ever ridden around here knows this place is a wind tunnel. If the forecast is correct, the ride is cancelled. I'll know more by 8:30AM.

Sunday
Rain...windy. Highs around 54. Southeast wind 20 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph in the morning decreasing 15 to 25 mph with local gusts to 40 mph in the afternoon.
