Mountain Biking - Some observations after riding with some Full Suspension riders

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well I went out today with some friends I've known since we were 3, but never rode with. They're pretty heavy into biking. Something I noticed was that over the really rough stuff they were definitly running more effecient than I was and would put distance between us -- and on the smooth flats, I was able to easily catch back up. Overall they were both in better shape than me which was good -- I had someone to try and keep up with which is what I need. But it just got me thinking that the Epic style platform with the Brain lockout, once perfected, will most likely be the ultimate race bike.

umm...yes you are right. :)...
Personally when I am on my dually (much heavier than an epic)...I don't try going uphill or flats...maybe its a mental thing, but I really can't be bothered. In the rough stuff I work hard to go as fast as I can handle. On the HT I try much harder on flats and uphills.
I really don't know how people can only have one type of bike. Maybe I do a lot of different kind of riding but I love both equally :D...I don't know if I could sacrifice my small bump sensativity to get a brain.
