I'm wanting to convert an older bike to a fixie, but am having trouble finding a decent bike for a decent price that fits me. I found this bike on CL today, but not really sure if it's worth $120. I really don't need the components to be in working order as I'm planning on stripping the bike. This one looks to be in excellent shape. Let me know what you think of the price, and maybe what you'd pay for it.

Its kind of a lot of money to pay for a bike to be stripped. I would search the local thrift shops. Also try finding a list of your local recycle centers. I have good luck at my local dump. They are actually sold for between 10-15$ a complete bike.
Its once every few months I find a true gem.

That is not a bad price for one in good fixed up shape, if you were looking for an as is rider. I agree it is a little much for a bike that you are going to strip to make a fixie. The parts are too mid/low range to be worth selling to recoup part of the cost.
I would keep an eye out for something with a decent frame and well used components -- that should come in at a lower price than a stripped frame or a ready to ride bike.
+1 As a fully restored, ready to ride bike, $120 is reasonable. For a frame that you plan to strip, you can do a lot better. The frame on the World Sport is nothing special. Cromoly main tubes, every thing else is high ten steel. And components are lower end so they would have limited value in the resale market.
Look for one with a defect that you can live with, like rotten tires, missing a wheel, derailleur caput.

If you're going fixie/single speed, stick to frames only.
The extra shipping, etc tends to add up, and unless you have an outlet to get rid of parts, you'll end up with a box like I have; old and in the way.
