Anyone actually have and ride the new Campagnolo 10 speed gruppo? I will like to get opinions here on feel and performance. There has been much talk on the new chains and the main problems were shops installing these were not doing them properly thus putting riders in a very bad and potentially dangerous position.

I have always been a Shimano fan, but now I have one bike with 9spd Dura Ace and a new bike with Record 10spd. While all the cables which have dissapeared is a positive, the Campy brakes are not as smooth as Dura Ace. I also find the campy brake shoes do not run parallel with the rims. Campy's gear shifting is definitely easier, although I have always found Dura Ace faultless.

I guess at the end of the day, it's a matter of personal choice, but I believe most people buy 10spd, not because they need a 10th gear, but rather because it's fashion at the moment.

I haven't ridden the Campy, but I'm on my second bike with DA 10 and I can't imagine something working better.

A "clue" to my age: when I saw the title of the post, I assumed it referred to bikes with a total of ten speeds. That was the "standard" for road bikes for much of my life. So, I was surprised to read the thread and find out it referred to bikes with twenty or thirty speeds.

In my flat, swampy city, three speeds are plenty - what would I do with 27 more?

Record 10 for two and a half years. No problems. I'm getting good life out of my Ti cogs too which was a concern.
