I have tried power cranks once and they seemed like a great training tool.

Is anyone using them consistently and seen an improvement in there racing?

You're probably better off checking powercrank user blogs and contacting the authors.

Improvement - yes

Racing - if I did any :(

Powercranks blog site - (old) http://www.powercranks.com/news/blogs or (new) http://powercranks.blogspot.com/

google blog search for powercranks OR powercranker OR powercrank OR powercranking OR "power cranks" OR "power cranker" OR "power crank" OR "power cranking" (http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?q=powercranks+OR+powercranker+OR+powercrank+OR+powercranking+OR+"power+cranks"+OR+"power+cranker"+OR+"power+crank"+OR+"power+cranking"&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d)

The biggest problem you'll run into when searching for user related stuff is that many people abbreviate the powercranks to PC, PCs, cranks or fail to mention them after the adjustment period.

What improvements did you see? Where you able to ride stronger in a group ride? How about hills?

Climbing is great, group rides are more a slagging fest (the great british sense of humor  ).

I got them because I wanted less pressure on my knees (old knee injuries) and could see that, clearly, using more muscles to pedal means, for me, more efficiency and less overall fatigue, i.e., burning quads. The other stuff that sold me was the marketing blurbs, the rehab stories and the fact that most people continue using them once they've got over the adaptation phase (requires a spine).

Demo them a few more times, talk to more people (there are a few racers with blogs) and, if you're still unsure, try and borrow some for a few weeks (during your first ride you'll want to return them immediately :roflmao2: ).
