According to VeloNews, this scenery from Stage 4 is some of the "more desolate" in California.

Great shots Dante. Didn't stick around for the party in Solvang ... had to get over to Santa Clarita before the traffic hit.

The traffic sucked getting home from Solvang. Took us an hour to get to the 101. We had a fantastic day though. We took the pooches and they had a wail of a time getting petted by tons and tons of people including some of the riders. Mark Cavendish Posed for a picture with them (unfortunately they both turned round just before the shot), Jens Voight stopped after his TT effort to say hello to them, CDV gave them a cuddle and Angus gave Bjarne Riis a big bear hug.

That's awesome. Cav is my new favorite rider afte seeing that segment of him at home riding the roads of Man with fenders and a frame pump.

qpelpel, thanks for the Jelly Belly shots. I think you got Bernard van Ulden in the second one. He had the best Jelly Belly time today, finishing 44th.

The photos do not even come close to the beauty and the magnitude of the snow capped mountains in the background.

Nice shots from Visalia! Were you in a car or something?

Also, that's a great shot of Landis. He always looks mad on the bike, it's good to see him smiling...

Photos were just taken roadside at the Sprint Line. I just held the camera low & steady and kept the finger on the shutter... click, click, click...

Landis was pretty relaxed-- he was chatty with the fans and stuck around the bus for quite awhile before race time.
