Hi,
I ordered a Dell S2209W monitor. It is a 21.6" 16:9 monitor. The other 22" LCDs
are 16:10
My current monitor is an old 20" 4:3
For another 50 bucks I can change the order to the S2309W 23" monitor.
It's the same, just bigger. I was worried that being widescreen the type would be
more like what you'd see on a 19" monitor. And I was hoping that the larger monitor might be a bit better that way.
I didn't know about the larger one when I ordered. But I could prob change the order, they won't ship for a couple weeks.
Both have the same native res of 1920x1080.
I have lousy eyes and wear thick glasses.
Am I worrying over nothing? There was only one person that complained about the size of the font (not all type on the screen is adjustable) but that person sounded like me.
in LCD sizes... 22" 16:9 is similar in resolution and height to 19" 5:4

Both have the same native res of 1920x1080. It's a new design.
But you do confirm my suspicions.
hmmm... I'd think 1920x1080 for a 22" is going to be a real eye strain.
my 20" dell wide screen with 1680x1050 is about as small as I'd want the pixel/inch to be.
Press CTRL and then roll the scroll button on your mouse forward.
What's the price on the 22 incher? I will say go to with 23 but ... again, how much for the 22?
By the way... there's a 23 incher on new egg at $199.99 atm...

The 22" is 209 and shipping and the 23" is 259.
There is an Asus 23" at Newegg I liked the looks of.

I got this 23" from Costco. Great monitor for the price.

Both have the same native res of 1920x1080.Are you sure? that's an odd size for monitors...it's 16:9, the proportions of a screen intended for television viewing, rather than as a computer monitor. Generally, 22" monitors are 1680 x 1050, and 24" monitors are 1920 x 1200. Both of those are 16:10. Note the difference in pixel sizes between the 22" and 24" monitors...with both running at 'native' resolution, text and images will be significantly larger on the 22" monitor than on the 24". I'm getting tempted to go to 28" (actually 27.5") at 1920 x 1200 to get both a bigger screen (more pixels) and bigger images (fewer pixels per inch) as compared to my present 22" monitor.

Wound up gettting the Dell 2209W. It's not a great choice for gamers, for anyone else it's a lot of bang for the buck. Spend the extra 50 bucks if you do, and get the 23 inch version, 2309W.
Just get yourself one of these (http://www.surveillance-video.com/toshiba-p56qhd-4-56inch-lcd-3840x2160-w-quad-dvi-input.html?productid=toshiba-p56qhd-4-56inch-lcd-3840x2160-w-quad-dvi-input&channelid=FROOG). They'll be $300 in a year... er, sorry, $3000... no wait... $30000...
