Yeah all that would accomplish is she would think you are just more insane than me... LOL...

Have your friend help out.

That thing is awesome!!!

Bottle it? Besides, then you don't have the "unnatural" CO2 of kegs. I'm a homebrewer myself (do about two batches a month) and bottle all of my beer. I find (at least for me) that it keeps better, is cheaper, and as I give it as gifts, is easier to manage. Besides, a few cases of beer is probably a lot easier to manage than kegs...\

I used to bottle but really don't like it at all... plus you always end up with that sludge in the bottom of the bottle, and cleaning bottles... I much prefer kegs now that I have switched... (Plus I don't get tempted to give bottles of it away... LOL...)

Forget the keg, and the bottle. Just drink it before you ride.

On tours, my weight fully loaded on an unguided tour approached 40 lbs... That was a little hefty going up a hill. Trailers separate of the bike do provide a lot of sway going down. I romanticize the idea of being car free and am all for it.. Ideologically. My wife my not agree.
.. Being car free might mean some reliance on public transit, should you be in a public transit friendly location.. Response number 18's looks like a good one.. But, If I were to be car free likely , I'd either find the need to rent a car once in awhile or maybe even have to hail a taxi once in awhile.

Yesterday, I hauled a 61 lb pail of drywall mud on my Xtracycle. I had my DT Mini folder on the other side. The mud made the load a bit wonky and I wouldn't want to have to stand to go up a hill with that much weight on one side. A trailer would be better.

Well so respond to a few things. First of all I think a trailer would be fine. I have a cheap convertied kid hauler and I haven't had oe of my kegs on it yet, but I have had a 55lb sack of grain and it was completely stable up to 20mph.

Bottling sucks. I love my keg. I love being able to adjust the carbonation level. You can find the sweet spot for your beers. Bottling sucks.

2 full cases of bottled beer, would be heavier than a corny keg with 5 gallons in it.

Just get a trailer. Longbikes are great if your going to be hauling that much stuff everyday. Or if your an attention wh0re, but otherwise a trailer is the much cheaper option.

So if I wear a dress and pull a trailer would that make it okay? LOL... I agree though i much prefer kegging...

Well hopefully I can order my Xtracycle on Monday... I can't find the special they had on their Web site though... :twitchy:

My wife is not exactly supportive, but I feel VERY strongly that moving in that direction is the right thing to do, i will keep my VW van for going hunting and such and she will still have her mini van. So we are not going car free, I am just trying to reduce our dependence as much as possible and get rid of the real insurance drain... mainly before we have two kids turn 16 this spring.... :( That will be hard enough but there is no sense in keeping a car that already has super high insurance before two teen drivers show up on the scene...

I hear you there. New drivers need rusty old civics with functional airbags (and ABS)! After all, used civic fenders are plentiful and inexpensive. (I needed a fender for my old Dodge Omni before I turned 18, though I still think it was the other guy's fault).

They had ran special for two days last month - February '09. It was an awesome deal for $499 called the "Cargo Van" Xtracycle package.

-Free Radical
-V-Racks
-Wide Loaders
-Long Loaders
-Deck
-Etc...

If my memory serves me right...
