I swear something happened to Time itself while I was commuting home today.
Here's the deal: when my commutes only take 40-45 minutes, I'm usually wheezing like Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. If I take it easy and take in the scenery, the ride usually takes on the order of 55 minutes.
So today, I took the ride veeeery easy so I could take in the scenery, enjoy the ever earlier sunrise, be one with my pedals and not struggle to stand up once I got home and out of the saddle. I get home and check my stopwatch, my GPS, and my bicycle computer and they all agree that the ride only took 43 minutes yet here I am just riding along, barely ever out of breath like I grew up in the bike lanes of Copenhagen.
It was the most bizarre feeling for me, someone who has, to my recollection, never had a workout as easy as the one I had this morning.
This is why Saturday morning and Sunday morning are my favorite times to commute.
Has anyone else ever experienced a Time Warp like that?
