Bicycle Mechanics - Shimano DA Bar con: compatable w/Sram RR derailleur

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I was building a sport touring bike. I've sourced the following Sram parts:

**Force Ft and RR derailleur,
**OG 10 speed cassette,
**1070 chain,
**Rival dual crankset and bb.

I really prefer to use bar cons on such a bike. Given that Sram doesn't make any, I was looking at the Shimano Dura Ace SL-BS70 model. They are made for 10 speed shifting. But is there a possible problem with one brand of shifter vs another brand of derailleur? I figure the cassette spacing is standardized these days, but what about the pull of such shifters or the swing of the rear derailleur? Are they standardized too?

The shifters and RD must match. A Shimano shifter doesn't even come close to pulling enough cable for a SRAM RD. Also, SRAM RDs are the only ones using a uniform 3.1mm of pull per shift, while Shimano and Campy use progressively larger pulls as the RD travels to the larger cogs.

Thanks Dave. Now I know what I have to do.

BTW, I just again visited the Sram website. They have bar con shifters compatable w/their deraileurs. They just aren't listed as being part of their three groups (Red, Force or Rival.) They are "non series' shifters primarily designed for Time Trials: TT Shifter 900 and TT Shifter 500. They apparently are compatable with the Sram rear derailleurs. I just hope they can be used in a 'stand alone' fashion vs must be used w/Brifters.

sram DOES make bar end shifters. The series numbers are TT900 & TT500. The TT900 are CF.
