Hey everyone. Just found the site and figured I would sign up.
Just started getting into riding my bike more than I used to. The main reason I started riding is because I want to lose some weight, and also because I have Diabetes, so weight loss will benefit me greatly.
Right now I have a Schwinn Traverse Mountain Bike, although I don't ride any mountain bike trails...oh well, I like the bike and don't have the money for a better bike. Just recently bought some road tires for it, and bought a MagTrainer. I would like to eventually buy a road bike...but being a student and unemployed is stopping that
So another reason why I have been interested in biking is because I am going to be participating in the Tour de Cure in June. Im only doing 25 miles this year...but it is my first time doing this so I don't to get myself into more than I can handle. I would like to eventually be able to do the 100 mile. This will be my first event, and definitely not my last.
Im looking forward to becoming part of the community here, and hope I can get some tips on how I should prepare myself for the Tour de Cure. :)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
