I'm a long-term cyclist in La Quinta, CA and Millbrae, CA (6 months at each location). I've been cycling for 61+ years...yeah, I'm an old guy. My current ride is a LOOK 586 (Mondrian model) with Campy Record, Mavic Kysrium ES wheelset. FSA white carbon bars and matching white carbon stem. Saddle is a white Sella Italia Gel (can't remember the exact name and too lazy to go look right now). Dura Ace pedals and Vredestein Fortenza Tri Comp tires. It's a frame set I can still get excited about, as there are only 50 Mondrian models world-wide and the paint job is beautiful (yellow, red, blue, silver, black, white).
I also ride a Litespeed Ultimate plus three older bikes. my "favorite" is my Celo Europa (aka: Colnago Super) which I've owned since 1980 and in mint condition.
I rie with the Desert DOGs in La Quinta as well as the Desert Bicycle Club . In Millbrae I'm in the FOGs (either Fast Old Guys or Fat Old Guys...take your pick).
I raced a little back in the '50s and had a license until 1988. I've done many tours, including several in Europe and Asia, as well as cycling across the USA with my then 17 year-old daughter back in 1987.
Cycling is a passion as well as exercise and fun.
This is my first time in an on-line organization and I'm curious to see what this brings.
