Who has carbon fibre bikes? I have a Giant MCM 2 I bought last summer. I rode it all winter and it has been holding up well. I am very satisfied with it so far. I have read some reviews on carbon fibre bikes. Some positive some negative. I was wondering how much general abuse/hard riding they could take. I ride mostly rocky and rooty single track. How easy is it really to break a frame? I also do some riding on pavement to get to the trails. I haven't had a serious crash yet. Does anyone have any hints for caring for the frame aside from washing it. I was wondering about some kind of cleaner or polish a person could use to shine it up. How about armor all? Or would that ruin the finish?
If I had to do it all over again I would probably get the Giant NRS. It was selling for about the same price as the bike I currently have. But at the time I wanted to get a hard tail because I want to do some tours on it later this year, I will be pulling a bob trailer with it. I also chose carbon fibre because a friend of mine has a trek OClV and is always raving about it. So I am interested in hearing form people who have Carbon fibre mtn bikes.
