Folding Bikes - I'm not the only American Fred in Okinawa on a Folding bike

Yesterday I decided to take an afternoon ride after lunch. It was a bit overcast so I put two flashing lights on the back of the Jetstream XP a flasher on front and a yellow rain cover on my rack bag. Helmet and gloves. Voila. Instant Fred.

Passed an American gal who had a foldie who had on a reflective vest, flag, etc. Fred-ette.

Not that there's anything wrong with either one of us, mind you.

I Japan they have plenty of folding bikes. You can potentailly meet just about anybody on those bikes. Last Friday, I went in Rome (Italy). There I have seen 3 folders. All of them Dahon's. That was a surprise.

I was out riding yesterday too John. - Double front head light, one flashing, plus rear flasher & all.
If you see a cyclist on a White MuP8 between Ginowan & Chatan, its most likely me. :p (till my Swift's built, that is :D ) Maybe we'll run into each other soon too. - its a small island.

gganio, you got that right! Its either a home-center bought folding bike, or a "mama-chari". :lol:

No fooling. I ride in pretty much the same area. On the weekends I ditch the folders and head either to Naha or up north and back.

If there's wind, I ditch my folder(bike) and hit the ocean to kitesurf! Gotta love the island life! ; )
