Recreational & Family - Newbie update: Day 7, first long ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi all,
I just wanted to thank you all for your support. Our goal was to work up to longer rides by the end of the summer, but yesterday we went 20 miles over street and dirt trails. Felt like a good ride, since we just got our bikes last Sunday and hadn't ridden in years.

Twenty miles is a great start! In a few short months, 20 miles will seem short to you. Good luck, and keep getting those miles in!

Congratulations on your journey. I got my hubby on the bike and we rode about 3 miles today. I sure hope I can get him up to 20 in a couple of weeks. He rode once with me this year on January 1 for a whopping 54 miles. I think it was too much since he hasn't been on a bike outside since. He does go to spinning classes once a week.
